Is Ethereum About to Get Native Privacy?
Ethereum developers are reviewing 66 proposals for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade, with several focused on adding privacy capabilities directly to the network. FOCIL is currently the only proposal confirmed for inclusion. EIP-8141, EIP-8250 and EIP-8272 are among the proposals being considered and could give privacy applications more tools at the protocol level. However, Ethereum does not yet have native privacy. Developers will decide which proposals move forward during upcoming core developer meetings, with Hegotá targeted for 2027.
