Ethereum May Be Poised to Surge; NEHI Pays Investors to Wait

Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has shed more than a third of its value this year. Obviously, that's bad news, but not unique — the broader crypto complex is struggling in 2026.

There may be a silver lining. Some market observers believe ethereum has established solid support around $1,600 and that the digital currency could be poised to rocket to the upside, potentially over the near-term. Investors who want to participate in an ethereum resurgence while being compensated to wait for that scenario to arrive may want to consider the NEOS Ethereum High Income ETF (NEHI).

NEHI carries a 30-day SEC yield of 1.50% — a uniquely high level of income in the cryptocurrency ETF space. The compensation could be just what investors need to be patient with this digital asset. It's possible that patience will be rewarded.

"Even more, the coin broke above its Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) 0.8 pricing band at $1,800 in early August. Historically, clearing this threshold has pushed Ethereum towards and even above its realized price, which at present is $2,245," reported Coinpedia.

Right Now for NEHI

NEHI's validity as an ETF to seize upon over the near-term depends on individual investors' levels of risk tolerance. However, in addition to income, another point in favor of this fund is that its methodology is straight-forward. It simply writes call options on a basic spot ethereum ETF. That generates the aforementioned bountiful income while providing market participants with some potential for upside participation.

NEHI's income and simplicity are potentially compelling. That comes at a time when some crypto experts believe a significant ethereum rally may be imminent.

Some analysts believe "now is the best time to accumulate ETH," added Coinpedia. "Michael van de Poppe says waiting on another clearer sign is a major risk since the cryptocurrency is volatile and therefore capable of making massive price swings in short periods of time. The way he sees it, achieving $3,000 in a few days or weeks would be no surprise."

Investors embracing NEHI over the near-term should look at $1,900 as important round-number resistance. If that hurdle is cleared, it could be off to the race for the cryptocurrency.

"Clearing the round number would confirm that the buyers driving the monthly recovery are still willing to chase price higher, and it would put the next round level, $2,000, into view. What matters is a clean break and a hold, not another rejection at the same spot," noted DailyForex.

On August 12, Goldman Sachs Asset Management agreed to acquire NEOS Investments, NEHI's issuer, for $2.3 billion.
